Vinyl record Dimensions - 12 Inch and LP Albums

The sizes of vinyl records are 12 inches, or diagonally 315 millimeters. The vinyl record comes with a paper inner sleeve. Inner sleeves protect vinyl records from damage and dirt. The dimensions of an inner sleeve for albums are 305 millimeters (length) by 305 millimeters (width). If you've lost your inner sleeve, no worries! On the outside, there's the cardboard record cover. This typically contains information about the artist, album, release date, record label, and catalog number. The dimensions of the LP cover are 315 millimeters (length) by 315 millimeters (width). Record covers increasingly feature appealing images and photos related to the album or artist. Most singles are placed in the outer sleeve without an inner sleeve. The outer sleeve can be made of either cardboard or paper. When you want to play your single record on a turntable, you need to revert to the 'original' smaller hole. Special 7-inch single adapters are sold for this purpose. Adapters fill the larger hole and have the original smaller hole in the middle. They are easy to click in and out of a single.
